Getting Started on Olympus
Welcome to Olympus! This guide is your roadmap from a fresh character to your first raids. Everything on it is achievable without spending anything — the server is built to be fully enjoyable free-to-play.
The Olympus loop: level up → gear up (mostly automatic) → join raids as a debuffer → keep improving your character through the progression tracks.
Jump to: Phase 1 — Level 1–90 · Phase 2 — Champion levels · Phase 3 — Raid-ready · Progression tracks
1️⃣ Phase 1 — Level 1–90: your first days
The fastest start is the simplest one: follow the Act 1 main quest all the way to level 90. Quests give you a linear path with clear instructions on where to go next, and reward EXP, gold and useful items along the way.
Prefer grinding over questing? Monster-hunting achievements are a viable alternative — just a less guided one.
For route details, see the Combat Levels 1–90 EXP guide.
Gear comes to you
Don't spend gold on equipment while leveling: Advancement Rewards hand you a fresh class gear set roughly every ten levels — your first four Specialist Cards included. Click through the milestones below (pick your class once, it's remembered):

SP 1–4 unlock through leveling achievements, and each can also be picked up once per day in Port Alveus. Higher SPs come later through crafting and raids — browse the SP guides when you get there.
🌱 New to NosTale? What's a Specialist Card?
A Specialist Card (SP) transforms your character into a specialized combat form with its own skills, stats and element. Most of your damage and utility comes from your SP, not your base class. Your first cards arrive automatically while leveling, so you never have to farm for them.
And if you're ever lost while questing: the on-screen quest tracker always points at your next objective — just follow it.
2️⃣ Phase 2 — Champion levels: Act 6 → 9
At level 90, skip Acts 2–4 and Act 5.2 entirely and jump straight into Act 6. Then simply follow the questlines in order:
Act 6.1 → Act 6.2 → Act 7.1 → Act 7.2 → Act 8 → Act 9
Champion levels bring two more big reward drops along the way:
r7+8 shell gear, boosters and consumables.

Alchemist's BeverageYour first real gear (C90)
The advancement gear carries you comfortably to champion level 90. Once there, look for cheap older equipment sold by veteran players on the bazaar to start your Act 10 journey — see also the equipment progression guide. Shell options to prioritise, roughly in order:
| Priority | Shell option |
|---|---|
| 1 | S-Overall Attack is increased |
| 2 | SL-Element is increased / SL-Attack is increased (any) |
| 3 | Damage against Monster-Races (raids & farming) / Low-Level Races (farming) |
| 4 | Damage against High-Level Races (raids) |
| 5 | Increased Chance of Critical Hits / Increased Critical Damage (Archer, Swordsman) |
| 6 | Enhanced Attack |
Swapping between farm and raid gear a lot? The Equipment Set unlocker (Olympus Shop or Loyalty Shop) makes it one click — entirely optional, but a nice comfort.
Which SPs to focus first
- Swordsman: Berserker → Renegade → Warrior
- Archer: Wild Keeper → Destroyer
- Mage: Archmage → Seer / Holy (for raids)
- Martial Artist: has its own progression — see the MA guides
3️⃣ Phase 3 — Raid-ready: gold, debuffs and your crew
Become a debuffer
Here's the early-game secret on Olympus: debuffs make you valuable long before your damage does. Partner Specialist Cards (PSPs) apply raid-wide debuffs, and raid leads actively look for players who bring them.
For a debuff to stick, the PSP must be at S Level, which raises the debuff to Level 5 — most bosses have a high chance to resist anything lower. These PSPs apply a 100% chance Level 5 debuff at S Level:
| Role | PSPs | Debuff |
|---|---|---|
| Ele — elemental resistance ↓ | Freya · Archangel/Guardian Lucifer · Amon/Archdaemon Amon | Freya's Announcement Name of God Colossal Quake |
| Pri(mary) — +20% damage, 100% chance | Laurena · Sheriff Chloe · One-Winged Perti | Scent of the Curse Big Bang Fiery Breath |
| Sec(ondary) — +20% damage, 25% chance | Harlequin · Palina Puppet Master · Daniel Ducats | Purified Flames Teddy Hit Ghost Ship |
| +10% non-ele & +10% ele | Bone Warrior Ragnar · Benevolent Nezarun | Shadowfall Holy Dimensional Force |
| +10% non-ele & +5% ele | Lucy Lopears · Hongbi/Cheongbi | Hip Swing Dance of the Imps |
| Special utility | Akhenaton (unique resistance ↓) · Jinn (top-tier provoke) | Anubis' Whisper Flash Freeze |
Starting out, just buy whichever of these is cheapest — one S-level debuff PSP is a low investment that makes every raid happy to take you. Raid teams usually want at least Pri + Sec + Ele covered (players call this the "123"): Primary and Secondary share a BCard, so they stack to a guaranteed +40% damage.
🌱 New to NosTale? What are debuffs and the “123”?
Debuffs are negative effects on the boss that raise everyone's damage. Three matter most: 1 = Primary damage amplification, 2 = Secondary damage amplification, 3 = Elemental resistance decrease. A raid with all three kills dramatically faster — which is why bringing even one of them makes you instantly useful, whatever your gear looks like.
Your SP matters less than you'd think here — good debuffing SPs include Destroyer, Dark Gunner, Berserker, Warrior and Demon Warrior. Grab a TP mount for raid mobility too — cheap mount boxes float around the bazaar (see Mounts).
Mounts are also in the Olympus Shop — entirely optional, the bazaar ones teleport just the same.
Earn your first gold
- Daily elemental raids — run these every day; the materials sell for good gold.
- Ibrahim — a world boss accessible early on; join whenever it spawns.
- Fernon, Spirit King Kirollas, Beast King Carno & Evil Overlord Paimon — easy to join as a debuffer with the setup above.
You'll also want the Act 6 fairy of your element around now — craft it here.
Act 6 fairies also appear in random boxes in the Olympus Shop — optional; the craft route and Glacernon family dungeons get you the same fairy.
Pick your companions
Same philosophy as everything else on Olympus: start simple, upgrade if you feel like it. Every pick below shows where to get it — the free bazaar route first, plus the Olympus Shop or Fortune Wheel when you'd rather grab it directly.

🧭 Progression tracks — what to improve, in what order
Raids give you gold and materials; these tracks turn them into permanent power. Tattoos and trophies first — they feed each other.
Castable buffs with powerful passives.
First goal: Finish Page 1 — it has a +50% upgrade success rate. Allrounder picks: Attack Stance (Lion Loa) + Swift as the Wind (Eagle Loa). Crit damage dealers take Piercing Gaze + Accurate Strike; mages take Accurate Strike + Attack Magic; pure farmers start with Swift as the Wind. World-boss picks vary per boss.
Permanent combat bonuses from equipped trophies.
First goal: Completing your first tattoo page rewards a voucher for a T2 trophy of your choice — the best PvE pick is
Twilight Gem II. Later, craft your Twilight Gem from the minor trophies of all lesser raids plus Namaju, Zenas, Erenia and Fernon.
More damage and defence on the SPs you already own.
First goal: Push your main damage SP up safely first; perfection comes after.
Percentage elemental damage — a straight multiplier.
First goal: Craft the Act 6 fairy of your main element.
Extra power lines on your weapons and armour.
First goal: A basic rune on your main weapon goes a long way.
Slow-burn account-wide power.
First goal: These accumulate while you play — no rush, no farming detour needed.
Your first week, in short
- Follow Act 1 quests to level 90 — gear arrives by itself.
- Act 6.1 → 6.2 → 7.1 → 7.2, grabbing your daily SP in Port Alveus.
- Buy one cheap S-level debuff PSP and a TP mount.
- Run daily elemental raids, and join Ibrahim and the big four raids as a debuffer.
- Start tattoo Page 1 → claim your T2 trophy voucher.
- From there: work the progression tracks above at your own pace.
